Fordland Clinic was designated a Federally Qualified Health Center (Look-alike) early this year. One of the programs available to FQHC's is the ability to contract with a local pharmacy to provide highly discounted medications to patients of the health center through the 340b and Prime Vendor programs. Fordland Clinic will be contracting with a nearby Pharmacy to provide discounts on medications, up to 90% on some brand name medications! While this program was designed for patients who do not have insurance, patients who are paying high co-pays may also benefit as in many cases the program cash price is less than insurance co-pays!
Over 8,000 common medications are discounted which includes most, but not all, medications commonly prescribed in this area. The amount of the discounts vary, from minimal on cheap generics to over 90% on some brand name medications. Any prescription that is written by Fordland Clinic will qualify. Patients who are taking expensive medications or paying high co-pays on medications from their specialists can benefit from this program as well, as the clinic can re-write specialists prescriptions for patients who are active family practice patients of Fordland Clinic. Additional savings are available to patients who wish to purchase a 3 month supply at one time.
